The Church and grounds

Owing to old mineworkings, the site of the former church was unsafe for building and is now the car park of the present St Peter's.

Inside the church

picture of window picture of organ The most significant addition to the interior is the stained glass window in the south-west corner, near the baptismal font. This was designed, built and installed by Eleanor Pattinson (with some help in the installation from father Alan) to mark the 25th anniversary of the building of the new church. On the left is Rev John Penman and on the right Bishop Michael Henley. Eleanor's account of the construction can be read by clicking on 25th Anniversary window
The organ can be found in the north-east corner of the church, to the right of the entrance. Its quality is much appreciated by all those who have the opportunity to play on it. For more information click on organ .
